A much more Macho subject matter than my usual. Quick and rough digital sketch, The Forgotten Soldier, a book by Guy Sajer about Operation Barbarossa, WW2 Eastern Front, Fiction or Fact who knows? the jurie’s out on this one. This harrowing account of a young half French, German soldiers experience on the Russian front had a profound effect on me when I read it the first time about 25 years ago, I thoroughly recommend anyone interested in WW2 Eastern front history to read it.
